Responsible Use Policy l Policies and Procedures l

Technology is a powerful tool for education, and integration of technology across the curriculum is a hallmark of CGLA’s school program.  To support technology integration and prepare each girl with 21^st Century Skills, CGLA provides every girl a laptop for use at school and offers every girl the opportunity to earn the privilege of taking the laptop home.  The laptops provide opportunities for girls to extend learning beyond the school day and outside the boundaries of the classroom walls.

However, it is critical that laptops are used in accordance with the Responsible Use Policy (RUP).  The RUP provides guidelines that govern usage of laptop computers and other CGLA-owned equipment.  To earn home-use privileges for their laptops, girls must demonstrate that they are prepared to use technology resources responsibly by achieving highly-proficient status on the Responsible Use Policy and Policies and Procedures.  To ensure that parents are full partners in their daughter’s education, CGLA requires all parents to complete a 3-hour computer training program and pay school fees (which cover the costs of laptop insurance).
